How can I fix the back seat locking mechanism of my vauxhall corsa?

The back of the rear seat of my vauxhall corsa 2004 has a locking mechanism that locks the back of the seat upright. I need to release this lock in order to fold the back of the seat down to make space for transportation of an arm chair. The lock has jammed so that the back of the seat can not be folded horizontal. What does this locking mechanism look like and how can I get to it to fix it with the back of the seat stuck in the vertical position?

I'm having the same problem, my seat is stuck in the upright position, and the two prongs either side seem to be jammed. Your post is from August did you get it fixed? i've booked my car into the garage in a few days time to sort it!

hi, i have the same problem on my corsa 2004.there is a plastic strip attached to the boot which has 2 holes in them. when you push the clips on top of the seat its supposed to realise the metal rod in the seat, that goes through the hole.i dont know what to do either.
