My Hotpoint 7821 runs full cycle but won't drain?

Has anyone come across this before ? No previous problems but my Hotpoint Super plus 7821 intermittently will not drain. The wash completes but the dishes are streaked. A milky water solution is about an inch deep in the bottom. Turning the programmer gives silence at the points where the drain pump should be running. This happened once before, but subsequently came good.
Any replies appreciated !

mine had the same problem and by turning the drainage motor a few time it worked.
I took mine out all together and gave it awipe/clean and it seems to be working fine.

Sounds like a blockage in the drain hose, or the drain pump has seized up. Sometimes, if you free the pump rotor off manually by turning it round a few times, it will startup when power is resumed. This can be attributed to rice or congealed fat in the pump. Sometimes, the pumps bearings leak, and the drain pump seizes up completely. Another common cause is under-sink drain assemblies where the DW hose is fed straight in to the drain. These are prone to fatty deposit build up (as the hot greasy drain fluid meets fresh cold water)
