It sounds like a combination boiler, its normal for the fan too carry on on some boilers when the tap is turned off, if the main gas burner stays on after tap is off, the boiler may have a preheat, a device within the boiler that heats a small ammount of water, so when needed, it is available quicker too the tap, it just depends on boiler make and model. jon
