losing water,1999 rover 416i maual?

losing water from expansion tank,no visible leaks external,no sign of water in engine,oil clean.loss of heater in winter,no overheating problems.I would appreciate any help

change the pressure cap as letting by under pressure.cold heater problem get someone to work the hot/cold lever in car,while you watch the change over valve located close to the bulk head.
