I got in my car after heavy snow without realising the wipers had been left on, this stopped the motor for a minute and now go the other way ie. from vertical to horizontal! The motor is still working though, just goes left to right not right to left! Is there any way of fixing this please?

windscreen wipers motor works when not connected to the arms controling the wiper blades but when connected they continual go on and you have to switch the engine off for them to stop
