Well Andrew... it may be the house power - it may be a defective socket - the fuse in the plug or appliance may be blown - the power cord may be defective - the control on the grill may be broken - the thermostat may be open circuit or the heating element itself could be open circuit. I would guess the element is blown but that's just the toss of a coin sort of guess.
