Whinning noise when I drive focus ?

When I drive my 2001 ford focus there is a whinning noise. The noise corlerates to the speed of the car not the engine usually over 30 mph it also seems to be louder when driving straight and to the left when I drive even just slightly to the right its not as loud. I jacked the car up but the there was no unusual movement from the bearing. can anyone help ?

it will be wheel bearing and in my experience i have found the problem to be on rear rather than front.the bearings are a press fit into drum or you can buy brakedrum with bearing complete.

It will be the wheel bearing...they don't have to show any play to whine - in fact they rarely do.
