how can i fix my renault laguna "m" reg is it the choke?

my laguna keeps stalling ,the engine will "chug" for a while the revs will drop then the engline will just cut out and won't restart, after a while it will restart again. Is it something to do with the "choke"??? please help it is a 1.8RT

check the sensor in the interior light. this is the immobiliser and if water gets into this, it will cause this, soon the car will not start at all!
go to the scrap yard and get a replacement, 2 minute job!

choke on these ar the automatic servo controled type. could be either an ecu fault, blocked fuel filter, dirty air filter, blown head gasket. or all of the above.
if your ecu light is on its that.
get it into garage for a full service....air, fuel, oil filter change if not that you will need to get a compression test done on engine.
