when wet cloths are left in the machine to stand they can set at the bottom of the drum, thus makeing the belt start up under stress and stick,although only for a short while this corses the belt to wear in one place makeing a constant knocking sound when the worn part of the belt passes throught the pully's "change the belt and do not allow wet cloths to stand in dryer
