speedometer needle does not register correct speed it keeps going up and down. sometimes it drops to bottom and stays there.

I am currently having a similiar problem and amd trying to find a repairer. I have yesterday bought (£50.00) a second hand speedometer from a scrapped C5 03 taxi (manual, mine is auto) which I have fitted (easy just prise the old one out from the bottom and carefully disconnect and reconnect.This has made me legal although the clock accessories are different and the rev counter doesn't work. I am still trying to find a repairer for my old unit. Good luck
