vw golf, gti, 1.8. 1999 year, engine cuts off after 10 mins drive?

my car engine cuts off after couple of mins drive and it wont start. To start again i have to wait for 15 to 20 mins and it will start and drive. but same thing will happen after couple of mins drive.

When it cuts out, remove the fuel filler cap. If the car will now restart immediately, there is a problem with either the fuel cap or the tank breather system.
