I can't burn a CD. Whats gone wrong?

When I try to burn a CD my PC crashes. I get a Blue Screen Error. STOP 0x00000024.

I used to be able to burn CDs. Nothing on my system has changed.

Windows XP
Roxio Easy CD Creator Classic 6
Sony CD-RW CRX-140E

Can anybody help me?

Have you made sure that Windows XPs own burning function is turned off?

1) Double-click My Computer.
2) Right click on your CD drive and select Properties.
3) Select the Recording Tab.
4) Deselect "Enable CD recording on this drive."
