i found through trial and error the a01 fault is displayed when the float switch (lump of polystyrene) attached to the bottom plate is activated indicating a leak,
for me the leak was the outflow hose had perished so when the drain motor was spinning it ejected some water into the machine housing,
the replacement drain hoses are easy to come by, however i found the only wayt to remove the access panel was to tip the machine on its side and this has since cause other problems (screws for the side panel are under the machine bad design) accordign to the fault guide it's telling you that you need a new water inlet valve (cheap little plastic thing with an electric solenoid valve that the inlet hose connects to) indeed mine had faild but that was a seperate matter, the constant drain is to remove liquid from the machine to reduce the problems of leaking (which ironically made it worse for me)
hope this helps you to find the casue and fix your machine.
