My samsung frost free fridge freezer has started playing up and I am not sure why. It will work for so long then seem to "shut down" of its own accord. I had not realised that it was doing this until I realised that my fridge was warm and the food in my freezer section was starting to defrost. I switched it off, checked everything that I could think of, cleaned it all thoroughly and switched it back on. I seemed fine so I left it and went out. Upon my return several hours later it appeared to be off even tho all the lights etc where on. This process keeps repeating. It fires up when i switch it off and on again only to shut down later. Any ideas?

Not sure if this has been posted yet but Samsung have announced home visits and repairs for several of their fridge freezers, including the troubled RS21.

SAMSUNG Electronics UK today announced a programme to visit the homes of customers to resolve an issue identified in certain now-discontinued RS21 and RS60 range fridge freezers, manufactured between March 2005 and June 2006.

SAMSUNG Electronics has decided to take this action after concluding that in a minority of cases the models’ defrost system may require repair to put right a defect in its assembly. In very rare cases, there is the potential for internal sparking to occur and in consequence, damage to the appliance.

In order to administer a solution as efficiently as possible, SAMSUNG Electronics will provide a free in-home inspection and repair programme of all affected fridge freezers. As a precautionary measure, SAMSUNG will also include unaffected fridge freezers with a similar defrost system as a part of the programme for consumers’ safety and convenience.
