Samsung SRL3626B Fridge/Freezer-Constant Bleeping and Key Panel not working?

We have a Samsung SRL3626B fridge/freezer and it constantly bleeps even though the door is not open. The control panel buttons at the top do not work, and the tempearture is no longer displayed. Any ideas??

Driving us mad as well so we just turned if off for about an hour, moved the top panel out to inspect as buttons seemed to have recessed into unit, then cleaned all the fluff and dust of the back then turned it back on. So far so good. Fridge /freezer was purchased May 2000 so is now 12 years old.

This not economical to repair requires a new p.c board better to purchase a new unit particularly if freezer is old and will not be as efficient as current new models, will be cheaper to run and maintain your food to a much better standard.

sounds stupid but i have justed fixed it by wacking the control panel and at the moment it is working.

mine has been beeping intermittently for nearly a year. The beeping is either like the door open tone ( though door closed) or else it is a single tone beep accompanied by the temp display running through the temperatures to accompany the beeping.

We were quoted £179 for a new PCB to fix and so decided was not worth it for a 8 yr old item. I was told the temperature itself was fine, just the display going loopy. Then shortly after that, all the beeping stopped for several months.

Recently it has started up again and it is driving us MAD Sometimes it only beeps a few times then stops for a while...other times it beeps for hours on end...aaarrrggghhhh!

I would also welcome any suggestions as money is tight. Surely there must be a way of disabling the noise speaker part ???
