Samsung Rs21DCNS Water Dispenser Won't Stop?

I have just reconnected the water supply, after 18 months, fitted a new filter and run the water through, but the water runs on for about 20secs after the glass has been removed. It gradually slows to a drip then stops.Any hints as to what the problem is?
