ive had a night mare of a journey my laguna was in the garage where i bought the car from for 16 months out of 18 having 8 gearboxes fitted so they tel me last time i drove it away the speedometer failed to work hand brake light stays on and abs light stays on then next morning i try to select gear on a roundabout when the gearstick became loose and no selction the day i took the car away from the gareage they went into recievership but have promised faithfully that they put a recon box in from a reputble source they are stil trading but under a differnet name so i can pursue any further action please if someone can help i would be more than grateful

Best bet is to get in contact with trading standards.I am not sure if there will be anything you can do but its worth a try.

What is the name of the garage, so the rest of us can avoid them!!
If they are in recievership, rather than simply shut down, you may still have legal rights.
Have a look at your house and car insurance policies, many now include free personal legal assistance.
If you are a member of "Which" magazine they may be able to help. Have a word with trading standards too, as the garage have clearly been incompetent.
Afraid I cant give any practical advice on the gearbox, try
