Help! I got water inside my vacuum!!!!!! What do I do?

I had spilled some red wine on my white carpet so I was cleaning it up with salt and water and when I vacuumed the salt up there was more moisture than I thought; my vacuum started making a whiney noise, and when I turned it off, the moisture had gone through the bag and water had gotton inside the motor. It leaked out the back but I can't take it apart to look. anyway, what should I do?

I have an Electrolux Epic series 6500 and I have had it for about 8 years

Best thing to do now is to leave it for a few hours in a warm area until the moisture evapourates. Then try again. If it still doesnt work, replace the fuse in the plug because that sometimes blows with a fault. If all else fails or if the fuse blows again, leave it.And get another vacuum.
Hope this helps
