As soon as I make contact between the gas hob ignition plug to the circuit (earth pin) the RCD controlling a number of different circuits trips! the oven is on a different RCD which does not trip.now this suggests that there is a voltage between my gas pipes and the earth which is very worrying. I tried unplugging my gas boiler but the trip kept occuring. any thoughts?
hi there is short cricuit in ignition hob. But why are you trying to unplugging Boiler????

But no matter - you need an electrician - some quality bonding may be called for - and if the "I make contact" means you actually touching something - with your hands - then you may be in danger - stop making contact immediately and isolate the hob.
