how you get the drum off is as follows,
1.remove wheel nuts
2.relese hand break
3.remove the center drum cap (usually brass in colour)
4.remove the large center retaining nut
5.get a flat screw driver and prize between the drum and the back plate, the back plate is not stiff and will bend as you do this but dont worry just take care not to do too much damage if you do just bend back in to place and as you prize around the plate tap the front of the drum with a hammer, just go around the drum doing this it will eventuallly start to come off complete with barings attacted to the drum now you can access brake shoes or other tasks.
this works as i have just completed the task my self.
thats it hope this helped.
