Easy job if you have a multi meter or battery/alternator tester, they dont cost much (cheap ones are less than £15), instructions on this site-

Places like kwik-fit etc will often offer free battery and alternator testing (it only takes a couple of minutes), but be aware they're only doing it so they can try to sell you a new battery and alternator!!
