The main thing about cleaning carb is using a good cleaner that you can let the carb sit in overnite ....
taking apart everthing that can be taken off...float needle and seat ..idle mixture screw ect ....all holes can acess to and run a small wire thru them ect ...I have been lucky with most of my rebuilds and just use seals over again but would suggest to get a over haul kit ........some get expensive ............
blow out all the pieces and holes you see if ya got a blower ..if not get a can of carb cleaner with a tube ..
