brakes?

hi i have a 1999 ford ka when i brake the pedal is stiff sometimes when i brake the brake pedalsilps from under my feet do you no what would cause this

Yes sounds like the MAster cylinder is faulty and by-passin .......when you are in car with engine running put your foot on brake pedal and push as if you are braking ....does it slowly go to the floor >? If so the
Master cylinder is at fault and needs to be replaced .
