battery light comes on followed by the abs light then the maintenance light comes on ,followed by rev counter and speedo going up or down.
several times the car has stalled.
any help would be appreciated.

have you thought your alternator is on the way out, I had similar faults when my alt went on my MG

Garages and kwik-fit type places will often test free of charge, it only takes a couple of minutes.
Get it tested at a couple of places if they tell you it's not working properly, they have been known to lie to get you to fit a new one!!
