Intermittant Lockout ?

Hi I have a Worcester Danesmoor 12/19 wall mounted boiler.
My problem is intermittent lockout. The boiler will run fine for a week or a month or sometimes only a day.
I then press the lockout button and normally it fires up fine but recently the pump motor runs for a few seconds and the light comes on again and it does not fire up after three or four presses. I once cured this problem by removing the burner control box and cleaning the contacts and it also started after pressing the burner control lockout button.
The boiler then runs fine until it happens again. Any ideas?

Hi. Yes I do have a two pipe system., but I do not think it is fuel starvation as filter has been replaced. The problem is totaly random.
Cheers Fred

Try fitting a non return valve at the outlet of the tank.
if the boiler is more than 6foot above the base of the tank then you will need a two pipe system fitted to the burner pump.

I don't think that it is the Solenoid Coil (on this occasion) sounds like it could be fuel starvation or air ingress into the fuel line (boiler is higher than fuel tank)
Try cleaning the Oil filter or replace if a paper element, and see how things go,

Do you have a Single Pipe Lift, a Two Pipe lift or a Tiger loop oil supply?
