faulty water sensor ?

Iveco 50 Daily 16 seater minibus

The sensor is attached just above the "full" level line of the vehicle water tank and this has caused immense damage (whole new loom) as it "let water through" DUE TO THE STEAM PRESSURE; THE WATER TRAVELLED ALL THE WAY, INSIDE THE WIRE, TO THE MAIN ELECTRONIC CONSOLE. This has been on-going for many months hence corrosion built up until just last week, when the ignition started to malfunction, hence the fault was detected.

I would like to know if anyone is aware of this and if it is a recognised manufacturers fault as the sensor simply SHOULD NOT allow water through. The corrosion build-up is so bad that it has been suggested a time period of 8 months to one year would be the time needed to reach the state it is now.

Look forward to hearing from someone as soon as possible,

HOW OLD IS THE VEHICLE ?.
IF IT IS THE WATER PRESSURE SENSOR AND IT HAS GONE INTO THE ENGINE ECU PLUG THEN THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH SOME DAILY VEHICLES .
