Cycle stops when drum should rotate!?

The washer starts all cycles normally (fills with water for wash/drains for spin etc) but, when it gets to the bit where it should start to rotate, it just stops the cycle as if it has finished! The drum doesn't even move and it doesn't make any funny noises. The door stays locked until I turn it off at the mains. Had it for over 12 months, but only used it for 3. Not sure on the model, but on the front it says: Servis 7.5Kg 1500 A+A. An engineer came out and said it's the electric board and tried to sell me a new washer, another guy said it could be the bushes and another said it's the motor! I'm told Servis have gone bust... Please help! Cheers

Have now checked the brushes and they are like brand new and both touching where they should.
