No heat?

I have a Proline tdc6a tumble dryer that won`t get hot. I`ve changed the rear thermostat and noticed what looks like a heating element underneath that appears to be broken is this the problem?

Hi. If there is a break in the element, then this is almost certainly your problem. To make sure, unplug from mains and use a multimeter to check resistance of heater. It should be about 20 to 50 ohms. If it is open circuit (infinite resistance) then replace element. Good luck. Ian
