Vauxhall vivaro will not start without use of hand primer ?

WILL NOT START UNLESS I PUMP THE HAND PRIMER TO THE FILTER....THEN WILL ONLY TICK OVER FOR ABOUT FIVE TO TEN SECONDS

i have a vauxhall vivaro 2004 it wont tick over when it dose it runs lumpey and i have not got any revs when i put my foot to the floor its got no power its in limp mod whot will it be can any one halp me

dave this is usually caused by an air leak in the fuel system...have you had any work carried out on the system recently?
