Can I recharge the R22 refrigerant in my portable air conditioner myself?
I have a Royal Sovereign portable air conditioner model no. ARP 1000ES. It is 3 years old and not cooling as well as it did when it was new. It is off warranty. Is it possible / feasible for me to recharge the R22 refrigerant myself?
Besides being completely illegal and unless you have the tools i.e. gauge manifold, refrigerant recovery machine, leak detecton equipment and refrigerant, I wouldn't attempt it.
