i have an 02 plate ford mondeo,and cannot see any way of getting into the unit to change the bulb.it seems like there is a bracket holding the unit in place that i cannot get out.

I've just done it on an 54 plate, so expect it should be the same.

Step 1; remove the radiator. Very easy, just turn the 2 plastic screws 1/4 turn, remove them and pull the grill forwards and upwards.

step 2; remove the light unit. There are 2 vertical bars that hold the unit in place. The inner is easier to see, the outer, you can only see the top. Pull them both out and the light unit can be moved out of position. Release the multi-plug and the unit can be totally removed.

Step3; remove the twist on cover for the bulb.

Step 4; remove the bulb holder and failed bulb from the unit (I needed long nosed pliars). Old bulb pulls out.

Replacement is the reverse of above. It took me 5 mins and I recon I could do it in less now I've done it once.
