How can I fix the 4 speed heater blower fan on a 2002 Vauxhall Corsa?

I have a 2002 Vauxhall Corsa (1200) with a/c. The 4 speed heater fan only works on full power (ie setting 4) with the previous 3 non operational.

Ive just had the same trouble with mine. problem is youve blown the resistor pack, located behind the glove box On mine this was caused by afault on the motor (a new resistor pack lasted 3mth).Dealer replaced my motor £335. Im sure I could have done it myself with 2nd hand motor £65.

I had the same problem and just this second fixed it and this is my addition to the above reply.

The resister was actually situated behind the plastic motor housing and just up slightly to the right of the centre console near the radio housing, if you actually follow the wireing you will find a square ceramic resistor with the usual white plastic electrical plug that fits the male to the female, once located this is very very easy to remove, purchased a new one from vauxhall at £24.09 and fitted in 2/3 minutes and now have a full working heater.

It has been my experience that when the blower works only on high , the resistor is bad. The 1st 3 settings go thru resistor but 4th(high) doesnt. Next the high will probably quit. USUALLY the resistor is inside the blower housing. You may also want to check to see if you have a blower motor relay (low speed). If you have a high speed relay, then we know it is working. May want to pull switch that changes the speed and make sure contacts (where wires plug into switch) are not corroded. I dont know about your car but what i stated previously usually is the case.
