Replacing a PIR - Veritas 8 home security system? Q2?

Thanks for responses and suggestions so far - to my previous question on my need to replace a damaged PIR sensor in my Veritas 8 home security system.
Can I add - if I am able to enter the default engineers code 1234 - will this disable the PIR while I remove and replace it?
Thanks

Perhaps this is what you are referring to Wil P.
Have just looked at Veritas 8 Instruction Manual - page 17 - where it states "24 hour zones (Fire, PA and Tamper) are disabed when the Programming Menu is accessed via an engineer code"
Perhaps this means you could open control box or PIR without causing alarm to activate!
Have not tried this myself but has anyone else?

no it wont you will have to power down the system if you no how to wire it up take the battery out and take the fuse out the fuse box then do it when you have completed it power up by battery enter code to stop alarm put mains on it can restore back to factory settings just incase it does the code will be 4321 then if it has changed change it back to your old 1 4321 prog 60 your old code prog reset and you will be done thanks death get back to me if you have any problems death
