what is wrong with my husqvarna 455 rancher ?

I have a husqvarna 455 rancher chainsaw. When I pull the throttle all the way it bogs down and dies . can anyone help?

Sometimes, the carb mount screws located behind the air cleaner cover get loose allowing air to leak in. Be very careful when tightening them because they will strip out the plastic the carb mounts to. Replace the fuel line also. They tend to get holes in them if you use the saw much. This worked for one of my 55's but can't figure out the second saw yet. I did strip one of the screws for the carb. DAMNIT!!!!!!!!

I took off the air filter and sprayed some carb cleaner inside. Been running great since.

Did you ever get your saw fixed? I am having the same problem, sounds like a fuel line problem.

Does sound like lean mixture, before touching carb check easy stuff first, fuel filter in the tank blocked, fuel hose check for cracks or splits, check pipes to purge button, check purge button itself for cracks. The mixture screws on the carb have caps on them, you may need to pull these back to adjust the mixture ( anti clockwise to run richer ) you will need to check the rpm with a taco, max free running 12500/13000. This machine has an air head cylinder and is prone to ring gumming due to the fresh air being taken in through the air ports and cooling the piston, so check for good compression, good luck.

might be the carb settings , but unlikely if they haven't been messed with . am pretty certain that new fuel pipe(s) will cure the problem .
