may be that the fitler is blocked. when it goes into drain cycle and cant do this due to blocked filter then the dial clicks round and round. seen it before where a sanitary towel has blocked the filter!!!

the program dial is the machines way of indicating a fault
need to narrow this down by watching and NOTING WHEN this spinning dial occurs ie when machine is filling ,heating washing, draining, etc,
