megane coupe 2000 xreg?

hi i have a renault megane coupe . when turning left there is a cluncking noise would any1 know if this is a cv joint or driveshaft . also how much of a job for a diy guy regards terry

It will be the outer CV joint thats worn - especially if the outer boot has been split at sometime. Its not such a bad job, but you have to release the lower suspension ball joint to allow the driveshaft to come out from the hub. You'll lose gear oil too. This can be a bit of a pain to do, and not really a job for a beginner....You can buy either a complete driveshaft (exchange) or just the cv joint itself, but don't buy from Renault!
