Does anyone know how i can sort this flashing airbag light on my ford mondeo, It just came on one morning for no reason at all. Is there a way to sort this without Ford charging me that obscene amount of money they have quoted me? Kind Regards and Many Thanks.

Late 1997 Mondeo MK2 (light flashing) I moved the wire on the sensor by the seat belt and disconnected and reconnected the yellow plug under the Passenger seat RH side - Thanks guys as this fixed the problem now in 2002.

the problem is allmost certainly dirty contacts on the air bag wiring connections. These are found under the front passanger seats. slide the seat forward and you will see the connectors there are two (yellow) the first one is easy to get at just unclip it and clean with wd 40. this will probably cure the fault , if not there is a second connector actually fixed to the underneath of the seat . I had this happen to my modeo and a kind ford machanic showed me ! keeps going off about every 18 months hey ho!

that didnt seem to make a difference? Thanks though. Does anyone know where the air bag probe or sensor is on the front of mondeo? is it in wheel arch could it have been damaged by me pressure washing under arches? or is this nothing to do with it at all?

I could be your seat position. try sliding it forward and back a few times. Some cars have a sensor to ensure that the seat postion is correct for the airbag.
