Have a mountfield Laser with a Honda GV100 engine. Cant Start?

Have cleaned the plug - very oily but still wont start
What procedures should I go through
Peter Trenier, September 2009
Hi there, I repair mowers and am familiar with many of the mistakes that owners make, indeed I made same mistakes in the past. 1. have you over filled the engine with oil? 2. have you looked underneath and tipped the engine forward? 3. have you checked the spark plug and decided to reduce the gap to improve on the spark, big no no get your user guide and widen the gap to the specified gap, wider gap bigger spark, it also affects the engine timing slightly. Try removing the spark plug and pour a little petrol from a thimble into the hole, that's if there's no primer of course, this will burn off any oil (if it starts) should 1 and 2 apply. Herbie
