Put new battery in fob but not working anymore to open doors or boot focus 1.8tddi 2000(having to use key)can this be rectified without going to a ford agent

Hi.. I have a 2009 1.8 zetic focus. Recently the key stopped working, I got the battery replaced, buit it still won't open/lock teh door. I have to manually open and close with the key. The alarm goes off also when I open the door manually? Is there any way I could get this fixed without going to a ford dealer to get reprogrammed? Thanks

yes stephen it can,put the key in ignition & turn repeatedly & quickley it to position 2 (if you still have the ford stereo fitted,you will hear a audible noise,when you hear this press the lock/unlock and it should lock/unlock the doors) if you have had your own stereo fitted you will have keep turning the key repeatedly & quickly & keep pressing the button's as described earlier until the doors lock/unlock hope this help's & best of luck
