My approx 2 yr old Hotpoint Ultima CTD80 has started making a dreadfull noise that sounds a little like a loud rubbing noise. It is worsse at the beginning and the end of a revolution. There is no error code displayed. I regularly clean the filters and empty the water.
they have a inpeller inside is about 5inch dia its plastic and it rubs away on the spindle and becomes unbalanced and sounds like it going to blow up these inpellers are about £5-6 hope this helps.

I had this with mine too - worked out it was a ptfe wheel at the front of the drum that had come away from it's fixing. Was able to fix it temporarily but really need a new wheel.

it could be your spider attached to the back of the inner drum or a bearing , the spider is made of cast iron and if the drum is overloaded it breaks and makes the drum unbalanced ,
