HOTPOINT TUMBLE DRYER SHORTING MAINS SYSTEM?

my hotpoint tumble dryer is shorting the mains electrical system when plugged in,but is not working itself?

have you put new thermast in the dryer if you have you could have put the connections on the wrong thermastat if answer to this is no try changing the fuse in the plug this will aslo cause the dryer to trip your electric if a new fuse is needed
