i think its because of the lid sensor, probley on way out, looks like a magnetic setup, is there a way i can tempory wire it up so it will run without sensor untill i get a new one to make sure that is the problem?

When you press start button do you hear a beep & the flashing light on the top row stops flashing? If yes then you may be on the right track with the lid switch. If not then the problem will be in the start switch or the copper tracks on the display board PCB which may be corroded.
