Front suspension - vauxhall zafira?

My front suspension is knocking very loudly, if I had to say I would say it is the nearside. Any suggestions what it could be?

With respect to the clunking sound I had yesterday I put the front wheels on full lock so I could just reach up and feel in the suspension leg tray and Lo and behold there was a small tan-coloured stone about the size of a marble. I removed it and the clunking has gone. We think we picked it up in an NCP car park which has these small pebbles as a base. So before you start replacing parts just check the suspension trays for stones first, you may be surprised.

I had the same problem and it turned out to be small stones that had settled in the tray that the suspension springs sit on. We assumed we picked them up from a gravel car park. All rods and joints and shocks were in perfect order and the garage could only find the stones. Once removed the clunks disappeared. We now have the clunk back again on the passenger side front after months of clunk free driving. If it is stones again at least our local garage will know what to look for now. It is worrying and the noise is very loud, so look for small stones in the suspension tray first, you just never know!

possibly your droplinks ( the plastic bar that links the top of suspension leg to the ends of the roll bar ). About £20 each side & something you could poss do yourself . When mine went it made a kind of loudish clonking noise . hope this helps .
