It is possible to by pass it simply by removing the bulb
When you turn the ignition key to the point where the dash lights come on the engine management light should come on as a "self test", as should the airbag and ABS lights etc. On some cars it will go out after a few seconds, on others it will go out when you start the engine.
If it doesn't come on at all it's been bypassed.
It should never be on when the engine is running.
It is also possible to wire the EML bulb to another light, such as the ABS, so that it appears to self test but will not come on if there is an engine fault.
What fault is your scanner showing?
Are you positive it is fully compatible with your car?
I think it's more likely to be a scanner problem than a car problem tbh.

no you cant disable the management light, some problems dont trigger the light, you should try to be more trusting, your mechanic is there to help you

Not all fault codes will put the warning light on, in general only those related to emmision controls will put the light on, so it is very unlikely that the light has been disabled
