It may be a slipping belt which may need tightening or it may be worn or possibly motor failure the carbon brushes wear out and they loose contact with the motor they can be replaced cheaper than buying a new motor and are not too difficult to put in but you will need remove the motor from the machine by taking out the bolts the motor is quite heavy so be careful if the motor still fails to run then it may be burnt out you will have to buy a new or recnditioned motor hope this is helpful .
