my fisher and paykel GWL 15 isnt doing anything!?

i have a fisher and paykel GWL 15 that was just bought in Jan 08. I was washing my bed comforter in it this morning and when I went to put the comforter in the dryer, the washing machine was full of water. So i tried to turn the washer back on and it wouldnt come on at all. I got my manual and tried to trouble shoot. I did the 2 references they made, unplugged the washer for about 10 minutes, then also flipped the circuit breaker to no avail. So when my husband came home he started tinkering with it and he did manage to find a pencil sharpener down in the bottom of the machine by the agitator, so we thought YES problem solved, WRONG. it still isnt working but when he turns the agitator ( i believe thats what the middle part is called?) really fast the lights on the washer light up and make noise but its still not coming on. Does anyone have any idea's what it could be? he said he thinks the lid switch is fine and he checked all the hoses for clogs. help!!!

It is best to take the drain pump out. You can then look closely at the copper winding to see if it looks burnt. If you have a test meter put it on ohms range & then you can put the probes on the two terminals of the pump & it should read approximately 33 ohms. If pump is ok with these two checks then the fault is probably the control board. Rather than go spending big money on parts that may not fix the problem I would suggest it would pay to get someone in to check. It is fairly easy for an experienced service person to check control board and any other areas that may be of concern. That may be more economical in the end.

so should the water pump and control board both be replaced...something had to have gone bad to fry the control board right? i checked prices for these parts and they are insanely expensive!

do you have to take the drain completely off to check it out?...its freely spinning from what I can see anyway...i read that yes it could be the control board, but doesnt that mean a wire is bad somewhere as well? sorry im asking so many questions.

If you are sure the drain pump is 100% ok then you will have to replace the motor control board.

ya we did all that, its still not working ive been looking at answers on here and was thinking it might be the memory board?

So many problems are caused by people who think that large blankets & bed comforters etc are ok to wash in a domestic washing machine. I would say that looking at it logically the problem started with the drain pump not draining the water. Probably blocked by fluff or inner material from the item being washed. The pump would then of overheated & shut off the power hence no lights. Try removing the pump & clearing any obstruction. At the same time check the pump to see if the wiring coil has been damaged or burnt out. If it checks ok then put it back & try machine again.
