you must take the back of and then the side panels. Hold the clock upside down and feed the chain through the hole until it is just pass the ratchet wheel that it normally engages on. I used a small torch for this then you need a small hook (some wire will do) placed through the side panel to grasp the chain. Once you have enough chain pulled through then feed it back through the other bottom hole from whch the weight hangs. Caution it is very fiddily and will need lots of patience. Don't forget to tightly secure the other chain beforehand as it will slip of its rachet also when you turn the clock upside down.

There is a cuckoo clock manual (primarily for setup) at http://www.theclockdepot.com/cuckoo_clocks/cuckoo_clock_owners_manual_1_introduction.html . Others may find help here.

I ordered the oil kit from www.howtorepairclocks.com.
It's been a month now, no kit has come.
Phone number is dead too.
Guess I lost my money.

Tie the other chain(s) with a twist tie so it won't come off also.
Then you can turn the clock upside down, look in the back with a strong lite and give the chain that is off some slack to make a loop. It may take a few tries but you will eventually get the chain back on the sprocket. When you do hold onto it while you turn it back over. That it. If you have cuckoo clock questions go to www.cuckooclockdoctor.com and click on my red mail box. I answer all cuckoo questions and I repair cuckoo clocks.

Turn the clock upside down and feed the chain up the bottom of the clock into the gear it goes around. slowly turn the gear and it will engage and bring the chain all the way around. Then bring it back through the bottom of the clock.
