The answer is - be patient...
They have a diverter valve that determines if the heated water goes to taps or to warm the rads - yours is probably stuck in the radiator position.
Best to call a qualified, registered engineer - avoid British Gas who will spin you a yarn in an attempt to get you to spend more than you can afford.
