My Hoover AL 150 won't spin. It does everything it's supposed to do, except the drum doesn't turn during cycle. The belt and the spider seem to fine but that's the extent of my knowledge of washing machines I'm afraid!
I had the same problem, it's the main Triac on the PCB (under the lid near the control knob) It will be a dry joint, will just need re-soldering, the PCB is a really cheap/nasty one ;) good luck!

probably the carbon brushes worn and are not touching armature of the motor, about £20-£30 to buy fom any aplliance repair shop an are easy to fit

Sounds like the carbon brushes in the motor are worn out, if you know enogh to take the motor off you can take it to a shop and they should fit them for you if you ask.

Thanks for that, but the brushes seem fine, as does the rest of the motor.
