my key to the vauxhall vectra(1999) didnt work so i had a new battery put in but nothing is happening.car wont shut and alarm want work.i can lock it manually but alarm goes off when i open it.it does go off when i put key into ignition.grateful for any suggestions.thank you.

You need to re-sync the remote.
Close doors, put key in ignition and turn on (dash lights on but DONT start engine).
Press the lock button on the key, doors should lock then unlock themselves. You may have to press the button a few times to make it work.
Remove key, get out of car and press the lock button on the key
The remote should now work the locks and alarm as normal.
